Note for Registered 4.0 License Users: When you apply service pack(s) over any 40xx build and upgrade to 5002, your old license file will work properly. Only when you install a fresh build of 5.0, your old license will not work and you will need a new license for 5.0.

Instructions to Apply Service Pack 3.1

  1. Shut down NetFlow Analyzer. (If NetFlow Analyzer is running as a service, stop the service also)
  2. Take a backup of the existing NetFlow Analyzer database by executing the BackupDB.bat (.sh in case of Linux) file present in the <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home>/troubleshooting directory. This will create a ZIP file of the contents of <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home>/mysql/data directory and save it as database_backup.zip in the <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home> directory.
  3. Execute the UpdateManager.bat (.sh in case of Linux) file present in the <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home>/bin directory.
  4. Click Browse and select AdventNet_ManageEngine_NetFlow_Analyzer_4_0_0_SP-3_1.ppm file that you downloaded.
  5. Click Install to install the service pack. This may take several minutes depending on the amount of data that needs to be migrated.
  6. Wait until the service pack is fully installed.
  7. Click Close and then click Exit to exit the Update Manager tool.
  8. Start the NetFlow Analyzer server.

Instructions to Apply Service Pack 1.1

Note: If NetFlow Analyzer has been installed as a root user in a Linux machine, continue with the below procedure logged in as a root user itself.

  1. Shut down NetFlow Analyzer. (If NetFlow Analyzer is running as a service, stop the service also)
  2. Unzip the downloaded ZIP file directly under <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home> (where <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home> is the directory where NetFlow Analyzer is installed. Eg: C:\AdventNet\ME\NetFlow\). Ensure that older files are overwritten while extracting the contents of this ZIP file.
  3. Take a backup of the existing NetFlow Analyzer database by executing the BackupDB.bat (.sh in case of Linux) file present in the <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home>/troubleshooting directory. This will create a ZIP file of the contents of <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home>/mysql/data directory and save it as database_backup.zip in the <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home> directory.
  4. Execute the UpdateManager.bat (.sh in case of Linux) file present in the <NetFlowAnalyzer_Home>/bin directory.

Note: Once you have installed SP 1.1, run the NetFlow Analyzer server at least once before applying SP 3.1.

Post Migration Checks

  1. Clear the web browser cache before trying to access the web client.
  2. Please note that data collection will not happen until the server is started after applying the new service pack, and hence reports cannot be viewed for that time period.

How do I find out my Build number?

Log in to the NetFlow Analyzer web client, and click the About link in the top pane. You will find the build number mentioned below the version number. This is the build number of the currently installed NetFlow Analyzer.
